About TEKU IT Unit


The IT Unit at Teofilo Kisanji University (TEKU) is designed purposely for handling all issues pertaining to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) such as administering Computer Networks, Developing and Maintaining all computerized systems of the University, computer maintenance and repair as well as providing professional advice to the Management Committee for approval.

The IT Unit Staff and Motive


Currently, the Unit has four (4) professional members who work under the supervision of Mr. Obeid Maguhu (Data Manager) and the (Head of the IT-Unit) followed by his Three (3) subordinates namely MS. Constancia Malima (IT-Technician), Mr. Hissan D. Mwahasanga (Systems Administrator) and Mr. Cuthberth F. Mwageni (Systems Administrator). As a Unit we believe in team working spirit for the enhancement of better work performance, efficiency, accuracy and timely output. The Unit humbly welcomes any person with good wills for professional advice and assistance to enhance a better performance of IT at the University.

The IT Unit Objectives


The IT Unit at TEKU endeavors to:

  •    Ensure the availability of and access to information that enables customers make timely and informed decisions by strengthening data and knowledge management approaches.
  •    Enhance collaboration across the Unit through digital solutions to inform and engage internal and external audiences.
  •    Promote the University approach to information sharing that fosters decision-making through the use of analytic technology.
  •    Provide a robust and secure IT infrastructure that supports On-Demand Access to Information.
  •    Deploy a modernized IT infrastructure that enables seamless access to information resources.
  •    Protect the integrity of the Unit’s information and IT assets by strengthening our cyber-security posture.
  •    Drive centralized and streamlined cloud adoption to meet the business needs of the Unit.
  •    To improve secure mobile and remote access to appropriate resources.
  •    Advance business Management Practices to transform Service delivery.
  •    Establish and employ streamlined polices and governance processes that align IT solutions with customer expectations and mission requirements.
  •   Build, develop, and retain a talented, diverse IT workforce.
  •   Improve end-to-end transparency and accountability between the customer and service provider.
  •   Ensure efficient and effective performance of core business functions and University services.
